Cloud and infrastructure

Cloud migration to AWS or Microsoft Azure

Move to the cloud in planned steps, with your business still running.

Overview

Moving to the cloud can reduce the equipment you have to look after and make it easier to work from anywhere. It can also go badly if it is rushed: applications that no longer connect, costs that nobody expected, staff who cannot sign in on Monday morning.

We start by listing what you run today and deciding what should move, what should stay and what should be retired. We then move it in stages, test each stage and keep a way back until you are satisfied.

We work with Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, and we explain the running costs before you commit, so that the bill holds no surprises.

What is included

  • Migration planning

An inventory of your servers, applications and data, and a staged plan with dates, owners and a way back.

  • Server and application moves

Moving workloads to virtual machines or managed services on AWS or Azure.

  • File and email migration

Moving shared files and mailboxes to Microsoft 365 or cloud storage, with permissions kept intact.

  • Cost estimates and controls

A forecast of monthly running costs and settings that warn you before spending drifts.

  • Security from the first day

Access rules, encryption and logging set up as part of the move, not added afterwards.

  • Staff handover

Short guides and a call or visit so that your team knows what has changed.

How the work is delivered

  1. Step 1

    Assess

We list what you run, how it connects and what depends on what.

  2. Step 2

    Design

We choose the target platform, the order of moves and the test for each step.

  3. Step 3

    Implement

We move the systems in stages, test each one and keep the old system until you sign it off.

  4. Step 4

    Monitor

After the move we watch performance and cost, and tune both.

What you end up with

  • A clear plan before anything moves
  • Systems moved in stages, each one tested
  • A forecast of your monthly cloud costs
  • Security settings in place from the first day
  • Staff who know what changed and whom to call
