Network security

Control what comes in, what goes out and who can reach what.

Overview

Your network is the road that every email, file and payment travels on. If it is open or badly arranged, an attacker who gets onto one machine can often reach all the others.

We design and look after business networks: the firewall at the edge, the switches and wireless access points inside, and the secure links that let staff work from home or from another branch. We work with Fortinet, MikroTik and Ubiquiti equipment, among others, and we choose what fits your size and budget.

We keep the setup documented, so that anyone on our team, or yours, can see how it is arranged and why.

What is included

  • Firewall setup and management

Rules that allow what your business needs and block the rest, kept up to date and reviewed.

  • Secure Wi-Fi

Separate wireless networks for staff, guests and devices, so that a visitor's phone never sits next to your accounts system.

  • Network segmentation

Splitting the network into zones, so that a problem in one place does not spread to every other.

  • Remote access and VPN

Safe connections for staff working away from the office and for links between branches.

  • Web and content filtering

Blocking known harmful websites and downloads before they reach a device.

  • Network monitoring

Watching traffic and equipment health, and alerting us when something looks unusual or a device fails.

How the work is delivered

  1. Step 1

    Assess

We map what is on your network today, including the devices nobody remembers adding.

  2. Step 2

    Design

We draw the network you need, with zones, rules and the equipment to support them.

  3. Step 3

    Implement

We install and configure the equipment, usually out of hours, and test every link before we leave.

  4. Step 4

    Monitor

We watch the network, apply updates and review the rules at agreed intervals.

What you end up with

  • A network diagram that matches what is really installed
  • Guests and staff on separate wireless networks
  • Remote staff connecting through a protected link
  • A firewall whose rules you can read and that we review
  • A warning from us when equipment fails or traffic looks wrong
